On December 15, 2020 the Maryland Chapter conducted their Officer Installation Ceremony for the 2021 Board, via Zoom.  The Officers for 2021 are Jason Clayton – President, Terry Katz – Vice President, Deb Wagener – Treasurer, Barb Lagas – Secretary, and John Thomas – Past President.  The three at-large Board members are Christopher Hill, Nancy Gilgenast, and Matt Magner.

Katie Caple attended the ceremony and Diana Franklin, our most recent Regional Governor, conducted the swearing-in, and then we all recited the CPCU pledge.  All of the Officers and Board for 2021 were in attendance except Nancy and Matt.

Diana reported to the group about the 2020 Virtual In2Risk Annual Meeting.  This is the 75th Anniversary of the Society and there are currently 18,000 members.  Diana thanked everyone for serving the Chapter this year and advised that there would be a Virtual Volunteer Recognition event in place of the actual Certificates we usually receive.  The Recognition event took place on December 16th.  The In2Risk Annual Meeting for 2021 will be held in Orlando, Florida on September 23-25, and we hope we will be attending in-person at that time.

Diana was pleased to see that the Maryland Chapter website is up-to-date and the group reported to her about the scholarships to a Gamma Iota Sigma student at Morgan State University ($2,000) and to the University of Baltimore Risk Management program ($2,000) that the Chapter provided in 2020.

Katie thanked everyone for their support of the Greater Chesapeake Charitable Foundation’s Holiday Toy Drive in 2020, which has been very successful in spite of not being able to collect gifts from offices this year.

The Chapter’s Planning Meeting for 2021 is scheduled for December 22 at noon, via Zoom.
