Cyber 101 & Social Engineering Fraud Coverage (2 CE Credit)

Receive 2 hour P&C CE credit by attending at NO COST, Cyber 101 and Social Engineering Fraud Coverage, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at HMS, Hunt Valley from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Each topic will be taught simultaneously beginning with  Cyber 101, taught by Matthew Magnerwhich  will provide information on privacy and identity theft legislation updates, discuss loss trends and development, and present examples of the types of businesses that have heightened exposure to privacy risk. In addition, an overview of privacy insurance coverages will be presented. 

Social Engineering Fraud Coverage will be presented by Chris Matthes.  In today's interconnected world, fraudsters hide in the anonymity of cyber space. They can infiltrate even the best-managed companies through what's called social engineering fraud—deceptively gaining the confidence of an employee to induce him or her to part with money or securities. Chis will provide insight to this coverage.

Mr. Magner specializes in writing professional liability and information privacy. He has worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years and has experience in insurance defense litigation, claims and underwriting. He joined Chubb in 2002 as a Litigation Examiner. He then transitioned to become an EPL Claims Officer and then E&O Underwriter.

Prior to  Chubb, Matt was an insurance defense attorney with the law firm of Caulfield, Heller, Harris & Ryan in New York City.  He later worked as a Technical Specialist with Travelers Insurance in their National Accounts department.

Chris specializes in Mgmt Liability, and serves as a national subject matter expert in Fiduciary Liability.He has worked in the Insurance industry since 1994, primarily in the Baltimore, MD, DC and VA territories. He joined Chubb in 2001 as a Sr. Underwriter the DC Branch. Prior to joining Chubb, Chris was a Senior Bond and Specialty Underwriter at Travelers, and prior to that was a Commercial Surety and Crime underwriter at AEtna Bond.

Chris is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, with a B.A. in English and History, and he has a J.D. from the Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, PA.
