I have met so many talented and creative people. I also have found myself grow professionally, socially, and in kind. It has been my pleasure working with the chapter and I appreciate your trust in me and our team. 2016 was a successful year with our chapter receiving Circle of Excellence GOLD in 2015. Fingers crossed for 2016. This would not have been a success without the various committees and their leadership. I call them my team and thank each and all of you.
Without this team and their work ethics, we would not have been able to accomplish so much for you, our members. We had a common vision, we set our goals, and we saw and accomplished our results. Even with all that we all have to do each day, as parents, caregivers, work, and all the other extra-curricular activities we find ourselves, we appreciate you as participants and volunteers in order to make our chapter one of the best.
I would like to emphasize that the chapter is a great place to sharpen your skills, whether through leadership or project management, or just professionally grow. I have learned so much here and found mentors andalso given the opportunity to mentor others.
I would like to leave you these words as I whole heartedly believe in this transformation of self. "Smart leaders know what they don’t know.” Remember, a title or position doesn’t always make you a leader, we each are leaders in some form or fashion, by working with teams, or committees, or on various projects we do each and every day, inside of work and outside.
Learning is a constant process throughout our professional life, and it doesn’t stop. Make sure to never stop looking for opportunities for professional development, and then you can pass on the wisdom you’ve learned to others.
