For Black History Month we hosted a trivia contest.

For Ethics Month we had an essay contest to answer the question “What does ethics mean to you?” Once again, congratulations to our winner John Siegfried with Amica Mutual Insurance Company. John’s essay read, “To me, ethics means doing the right thing, aside from any legal or moral requirements. If it is fair, it is ethical, and only then is it something worth pursuing. Proper ethics to me means acting in a manner that is fair to all concerned.” John received a $25.00 gift card.

On March 10, 2017 members of our chapter visited Chesapeake High School and participated in their Career Fair. They engaged with approximately 100 students, challenging them with a short quiz to get the conversation going about the insurance industry and what it had to offer. It was evident that many students had not really considered a career in insurance, but after this day, we may have changed a number of minds.

The "Tour of Maryland" is a way for all members and candidates to network and socialize with one another. On March 28th, as a part of our 2017 “Tour of Maryland” members, candidates, and guest of the Maryland Chapter got together at the Greene Turtle Towson to enjoy an evening of fun games, networking, appetizers and drinks.
Thank you to all of those who participate and volunteer! We look forward to an even more exciting second quarter. Be on the lookout as our “Tour of Maryland” continues to Harford County, more volunteer opportunities, the Leadership Summit and our Annual Meeting and crab feast.
