Maryland Food Bank Volunteer Activity was a Success
Members of the Maryland CPCU Society Chapter, Inc. volunteered at the Maryland Food Bank by sorting food at the warehouse on Friday, March 4, 2016. The volunteers repacked donated foods using a conveyor system. Foods are donated in all shapes and forms, so they have to be divided, i.e. baked goods, dry foods, candy, snacks,can foods, baby items, etc. Some packed boxes have to be weighed, then taped closed, and stacked. It is estimated that in our 3 hour shift we sorted and boxed over 7,700 meals. Job well done!

Combined CPCU/RIMS Annual Breakfast Meeting
A week after our heavy snow here in the Greater Baltimore Area with over 3 feet of it in most areas, thankfully, we were able to still have our annual RIMS/CPCU joint meeting for 2016 as scheduled. It was held on January 29, 2016 at the Hunt Valley Inn. There were 36 in attendance with both organizations equally represented. The breakfast meeting began at 8:00 a.m. After having a wonderful breakfast, we heard from our guest speaker, Dave Diaz, VP Commercial Lines and Workers Compensation at State Auto/RTW. His topic was timely in speaking about Workers Compensation Trends and Clai

2015 Toy Drive "Thank You for the Toys!"
The MD CPCU Society Chapter Inc. collected 1000 toys for the November 1 - December 3 Toy Drive, partnered with the GCCF (Greater Chesapeake Charitable Foundation). The GCCF expressed themselves by stating:
"Thank you for helping the Greater Chesapeake Charitable Foundation with this year’s Toy Drive. The response from the insurance and financial professionals in the Baltimore area was unbelievable. We estimate that we delivered over 6,000 toys and gifts to the following organizations:
