March Ethics Awareness Month WINNER "What Ethics Mean to Me"
March was designated as Ethics Awareness Month and the Maryland Chapter reached out to our CPCU members to see what they thought about Ethics. We posed three questions. The participants only had to answer one of the three. A winner was chosen by majority vote of the Board and Chairs. Congratulations to Robert J. Mellendick, CPCU, Sr. Vice President, RCM&D who won a gift card!
The questions that were posed are as follows. Each person was asked to only respond to one of the quesitons:

Chesapeake High School Career Day a Success 2016
On March 11, 2016, Deborah Wagener, CPCU (Treasurer), John Koenig, CPCU (Member), Caty Hartley, CPCU (President-Elect) and Anita Lewis, CPCU (Immediate Past President) visited the Chesapeake High School Stem Academy to interact with the Juniors and Seniors on the opportunities available in the insurance industry. Many students stopped by and participated in our traditional insurance quiz, which gives us an opportunity to engage in a discussion about the industry and plant the seeds to put insurance on their radars as early as possible. It was a rewarding experience for all.

Morgan State University GIS Scholarship Winner
On March 9, 2016, Caty Hartley, CPCU (President-Elect) and Anita Lewis, CPCU (Immediate Past President) visited with Morgan State University’s chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma fraternity to share information about CPCU Society and the insurance industry. They each presented information that described what a normal day in the life of their respective positions were like. Caty shared from the perspective of a company claims analyst and Anita shared from the perspective of a wholesale brokerage underwriter.
