March 2017 Ethics Month Essay Contest Winner

We want to thank and congratulate John Siegfried, CPCU, Amica a Mutual Insurance Company, forbeing the winner during the Ethics Month Essay Contest.  He answered the question, "What does ethics mean to you?"   And it read:

“To me, ethics means doing the right thing, aside from any legal or moral requirements. If it is fair, it is ethical, and only then is it something worth pursuing. Proper ethics to me means acting in a manner that is fair to all concerned.”

On March 10, 2017, Jacklyn McIntosh, CPCU (MD Chapter Immediate Past President), Evan Krozy, CPCU (MD Chapter active member), and Anita Lewis, CPCU (MD Chapter Student Liason/Candidate Recruitment Chair and Past President) visited Chesapeake High School’s Career Fair. They engaged with approximately 100 students, challenging them with a short quiz to get the conversation going about the insurance industry and what it had to offer. It was evident that many students had not really considered a career in insurance, but after this day, we may have changed a number of minds..

2017 Good Works Give Back at Maryland Food Bank

Thank you to those who participated in our day of service at the Maryland Food Bank! We had a great time and helped to pack 600 “My Groceries To Go” kits, which equates to 6,500 nutritious meals for our seniors. The aching muscles tell that we also got in some great exercise in the process. For information on the MD Food Bank and its outreach programs, you can visit their website at www.mdfoodbank.org.
