2017 Morgan State University GIS Scholarship Winner
The Maryland CPCU Society Chapter gave a presentation on March 1, 2017 to the Morgan State University chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma. Michael Bender, CPCU of Harford Mutual and Deb Wagener, CPCU of Liberty Mutual, (CPCU Chapter Treasurer) presented case studies to the students. Michael did a claims case study and Deb did an underwriting case study. This was a highly interactive presentation that the students advised was very beneficial.

Black History Month Trivia Answers

Black History Month began in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator, and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. www.blackpast.org. We celebrate President’s Day this year on this past Monday, February 20, 2017.

Holiday Party and Awards Banquet
On December 7th the Maryland CPCU Society Chapter had their Holiday Party and Awards Banquet. The event took place at the beautiful Country Club of Maryland, Towson on the patio under the big white tent filled with lanterns, holiday lights, and all the colors of the holiday season. The evening began with a cocktail hour consisting of registration, photo ops, pleasant conversation, and a wonderful array of cheese, crackers, and fruit.
